When Cumnock and Auchinleck Talbot meet, the anticipation alone is enough to draw supporters from other countries.
These football tourists come to a small corner of Ayrshire to watch the teams from two towns that are only one-and-a-half miles apart because there is the prospect of a fiery, unhinged encounter.
The expectation is a little hackneyed now, since the junior game is not as violently predictable as it once was. Even so, it was only three years ago when a game between the two sides was disrupted by missile-throwing supporters.
Police on horseback had to break up the trouble, which also continued after the match. The notoriety - the reverberation of an occasionally brutal encounter - has been hard-earned.
"It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be," said Henry Dumigan, the Auchinleck Talbot secretary.
In fairness, though, the history of the fixture contains plenty of graphic moments. Bobby McCulloch, the legendarily tough and uncompromising former Cumnock centre-half, can remember his father, Maxi, being attacked during one meeting between the sides.
